| November 17, 1612 [at sea]
In the morning the wind at north [and] much Fogg until noone. Then, about one of the clock, it cleared up and we made the land which [we found] was betwine Rennouse and Fermouse that we were [instead] of Trinitie Bay. A hard gale of wind in the after noon [and] we could not recover into any harbour. The wind blowing hard at west ...[it] cast us about to the northward again. This night proved verie faire but cold. In the morning we were right against the Isle of Spears [off Toad's Cove].
