In the morning the wind at north and be west. Little wind but close weather, Freezing verie hard until 10 of the clock, then verie faire sun shining all day until night. Thawing verie much after dinner until it was night and very warm and pleasant weather as though it had bin at midsummer. Calme, in the after noon no wind but a little at south.
This morning the governor and my selfe took a sable in the trap a little from the house. Towards night, [at] the setting of the sun, [it] began to Freeze verie hard and so likewise all the night it did Freeze verie hard but verie little wind.
