| November 24, 1612 [in Conception Bay]
In the morning the wind at west north west, the sun shining verie faire but something [of] a cold Frost and some snowe in the after noone. At night the wind at south and, about 12 of the clock at night, we removed anker from Belle Isle to go for Cupers Cove but about 4 of the clock we had verie fowl weather [we] not able to bear any Sail at all but hulled in the bay making first 2 or 3 bords. With snow and raine at times we were like to be put out of the bay this night, the sea being so extreme.
