January 25, 1613

In the morning the wind at west north west, a fair gale of wind. The sun shining all the day until night, verie fair.

This day was our lake by the brew house all Frozen over and the harbour so far as the Spectacles. ... also all the harbour from Salmon Cove unto the Spectacles was frozen.

This day we began to drink beverage in one quarter can, three cans of water and one of beer. This night proved to be Reasonable myld.
